COVID Response Update

Summer 2021

We ended the program year using COVID Protocol to keep our volunteers and those whom we serve as safe as possible. We served 150+ kids each week and appreciate the generosity of the community.

Check out our last pack of the season in the video below.

Fall 2020

We are packing! We have begun our deliveries of food for those students who face food insecurity, particularly during their time away from school.

While uncertainty and need continue to occupy our concerns during the Pandemic, we are grateful for the caring community of Milford, who wants to make sure no child goes hungry.

Our pilot packing events have been working smoothly, with our eye on safety for volunteers and for those receiving the bags.

Due to restrictions our sign ups have been filling up quickly, and are full through the end of the year.

Packing Events have specific designations for the welfare of our volunteers. While we typically have our Sign Up live, it is easiest for us at this point to gather contacts of those interested and able to volunteer.

Summer 2020

We worked closely with Milford Public School Food Services and The City of Milford to make sure children and families had food on the table. Thanks to funding from The City of Milford, Food 2 Kids organized volunteers to pack at Law High School and Foran High School.

We packed and distributed about 23,000 pounds of food alongside the tremendous effort of PS Food Services Staff.

Spring 2020

During the uncertainty and fear of scarcity in the Spring, we are so grateful for Milford Public School Food Services, who is providing all school children under the age of 18 (who express need) with weekday breakfasts and lunches during the COVID-19 crisis and school closures.
Milford Food 2 Kids is working with MPS Food Services to supplement their offerings by providing support cards for food/household essentials for upwards of 1000 students in town.
Your generosity has allowed us to share $52,000 to help take care of our children and families in Milford.
